Renovation of a military facility in Bethesda, Maryland. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
Work consists of providing all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment required to prepare surfaces and install a spray polyurethane foam (SPF) insulation system within the Building 9 mezzanine area. Surfaces shall be cleaned and prepared in accordance with industry standards to ensure they are dry and free of contaminants prior to application. The contractor shall apply closed-cell SPF insulation to the ceiling at a thickness of 3 inches (R-21 value) and to the walls at a thickness of 4 inches (R-28 value). Following insulation installation, all foam surfaces shall receive a fire stop intumescent coating and two finish coats of pre-catalyzed water-based epoxy in semi-gloss white. The work area is approximately 5,180 square feet and the objective is to create a high-performance air barrier and insulation system to enhance energy efficiency, durability, and environmental control. The contractor shall have a minimum of five years of experience in commercial spray foam insulation systems, and all personnel must be vetted U.S. citizens authorized to work on site.
