The project consists of the complete replacement of the Main Street Orient Bridge in Redstone Township, Fayette County. The work includes demolition of the existing bridge, complete removal of abutments and wingwalls, construction of a new steel bridge with a concrete deck, assembly and erection of the steel superstructure (to be furnished by U.S. Bridge Company), casting the concrete deck, construction of new cast-in-place abutments and wingwalls, and reconstruction of the approach roadway for approximately 122 linear feet. Associated tasks include drainage improvements, guiderail installation, pavement markings, erosion and sediment control, and all other incidental items necessary for a complete and functional project. The contractor is responsible for coordinating delivery and handling of the bridge structure, as well as all other labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and supervision required. Bids must be made on standard proposal forms provided in the specifications, enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the bidder's name, address, and project name, accompanied by a Non-Collusion Affidavit and a bid bond or certified check for not less than ten percent (10%) of the base amount bid. Compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, and ordinances-such as the Pennsylvania Steel Products Procurement Act, Prevailing Wage Act, Public Works Employment Verification Act, and equal opportunity laws-is required. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids for nonconformity, non-responsiveness, or for other reasons, and to waive informalities not involving price, time, or changes in work, and to negotiate contract terms with the successful bidder.
