Sealed proposals are required for furnishing materials and labor for the "CERRO GORDO COUNTY - ROCKWELL SECONDARY ROADS BUILDING, ROCKWELL, IA." The method of construction will be by Single Stipulated Sum Contract, and all work must be done in strict compliance with the plans and specifications prepared by Bergland & Cram Architects and as referenced by Cerro Gordo County. Substantial completion of the work must be achieved by May 31, 2027. Each bid must be submitted on a proposal blank furnished by the Architect and sealed in an envelope properly marked. A separate envelope must contain a bidding check, bid bond, or certified share draft amounting to not less than five percent (5%) of the bid price as security that the bidder will enter into a contract and furnish required bonds within seven days of award. Preference will be given to products and labor from within Iowa, and bidders must comply with Iowa's registration and bonding requirements. The successful bidder must commence work within 10 days of the notice to proceed. There is a sales tax exemption on this project, and tax exemption certificates and authorization letters will be issued to all contractors and subcontractors awarded the project. Payment will be made monthly at ninety-seven percent (97%) of approved estimates, with final payment no sooner than thirty days after final acceptance. The Cerro Gordo County Supervisors reserve the right to reject any and all bids and waive technicalities or irregularities. Bidders are required to comply with non-discrimination requirements in employment and advertising, and must post policies of non-discrimination conspicuously. Bids may not be withdrawn for thirty days after opening. Copies of the plans and specifications are on file for examination and may be obtained from the Architect for a refundable charge.
