Pinelands Park Landfill is a closed municipal waste landfill located on Ocean Heights Avenue in Egg Harbor Township, Atlantic County, New Jersey. The landfill closed in 1992 and is currently in year 33 of the post closure period. The Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) has assumed ownership and responsibility for post closure monitoring and maintenance activities at the site for the benefit of Atlantic County rate payers. The landfill property totals approximately 160 acres with a permitted landfill footprint of 134 acres. Municipal solid waste was accepted until 1990. After closure, the final cover surface was converted into a golf course known as “McCullough’s Emerald Golf Links,” with no disturbance to the existing final cover. Ongoing monitoring and maintenance are financed through an NJDEP/BPU escrow fund. Payment for services required in this RFP will be submitted to NJDEP for escrow withdrawal, and payment to the vendor will occur upon receipt of funds from the escrow fund.
