The project involves the full renovation and modernization of the washrooms located at the Wing B / Wing F elevator core on Levels 1-5. Work includes reconfiguring each level to provide two new universal washrooms (Levels 1 and 5), fourteen gender-neutral private washrooms, and a replacement of the existing men's washroom on Level 2. The scope includes replacing all plumbing fixtures and connections, washroom partitions, counters, accessories, flooring, wall and ceiling finishes, lighting, and ventilation components. Repairs will be made to unused openings in the existing poured-concrete floor assemblies, with new coring as required for revised plumbing stacks. At the basement level, the slab-on-grade will be removed to install new plumbing tie-ins before reinstating a new slab. A new roof curb will be installed to support the upgraded mechanical exhaust system. New fire-rated partitions will maintain the required 1-hour fire separation between each washroom and adjacent corridors, as well as the boundary partitions of each janitor room. New fire-smoke detectors will be installed and integrated into the existing fire alarm system. All work will occur within the footprint of the existing washrooms and be coordinated to maintain building operations. The project does not affect the exiting, fire separations, life-safety systems, or occupant load for the remainder of the building. All work shall be carried out in accordance with the Drawings, Specifications, applicable codes, and Queen's requirements.
