Question Deadline 07/23/2026 All enquiries shall be submitted by email only to: procurement@amherst.ca The Town of Amherst is seeking proposals from qualified teams for the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and startup of a complete replacement ammonia refrigeration plant for Amherst Stadium in Amherst, Nova Scotia. The project is to provide a modern, reliable, energy-efficient, and serviceable municipal refrigeration system for year-round arena operation. The scope includes the complete replacement of the existing ammonia refrigeration plant, retaining the existing arena slab and floor piping infrastructure. The successful proponent is responsible for the design-build refrigeration scope, including equipment design, engineering, supply, installation, controls, startup, commissioning, demolition of the existing plant after successful cutover, and all coordination with the building contractor, Town representatives, utilities, and authorities. The existing system will remain operational during construction; proponents must develop a phased installation, transition, and cutover strategy to minimize operational interruption and maintain arena service until the offseason shutdown period for final cutover activities. Proponents must have a comprehensive understanding of industrial refrigeration systems and demonstrate experience delivering similar projects within the past five years.
