Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Separate sealed bids are requested for the construction of 1,200 linear feet of new 5'-6' reinforced concrete sidewalk and related improvements. The total bid price must include all individual unit price bid items and lump sum items. The contractor and all subcontractors are required to have VDOT prequalification to submit a bid. Bidders must comply with various federal and state requirements, including non-discrimination, utilization of MBE/WBE firms, minimum wage laws (Davis-Bacon Act), "Buy America" provisions for iron and steel products, and certification regarding employee facilities. The project is funded through the Virginia Department of Transportation and must comply with all agency requirements and conditions. Bid security must be furnished according to the instructions to bidders. Printed and electronic copies of bidding documents are available for a fee, and attendance at a pre-bid conference is highly encouraged but not mandatory. Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
