The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board (TBDSSAB) is requesting bids from qualified contractors for the provision of all labour, materials, supplies, and equipment required for the replacement of eight residential asphalt driveways across two TBDSSAB projects in Thunder Bay, Ontario. All work is to be completed by October 9, 2026. Submissions must be made online only. Question Deadline 07/09/2026 at 12:00 PM ET Documents can be obtained from https://tbdssab.bidsandtenders.ca/ Provide all necessary labor, materials, supplies and equipment for the removal of existing asphalt driveways and the supply and installation of new asphalt driveways at the designated locations provided. Scope of work includes: Full-depth removal of existing asphalt, sub-base materials, vegetation , and unsuitable soils to achieve proper grading and structural support. All driveway locations and extents of work are identified within this document and shall be verified on site prior to commencement. New driveway construction shall include granular base preparation, grading, compaction , and installation of hot-mix asphalt in accordance with applicable Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications (OPSS specifications.) Contractor is responsible for coordinating all work to ensure a fully functional, durable, and code-compliant driveway system . All driveways shall be constructed to promote positive drainage away from building structures and to prevent water ponding. Work shall include saw-cutting and proper tie-in to existing sidewalks, curbs, and adjacent asphalt surfaces to provide smooth and uniform transitions. Provide granular shouldering and edge support where required to prevent asphalt edge deterioration.
