The work consists of furnishing materials and labor to complete the Site Improvements at Charles E. Schwarting Elementary School in accordance with the plans and specifications for the category of work titled "SITE IMPROVEMENTS at Charles E. Schwarting Elementary School," Contract C-1: SITE CONSTRUCTION. Bids must be presented on the standard bid proposal forms as required by the specifications, sealed in an opaque envelope distinctly marked with the bid number, project name, bidder's name, address, and contract name. Bidders are required to be fully familiar with the site and visit the location to understand the existing conditions and the nature of the operations under the contract. Bidders must coordinate site visits as specified. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check payable to Plainedge Union Free School District or a Bid Bond equal to ten percent of the bid, as set in the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder will be required to provide separate Performance and Labor & Materials Payment Bonds in the contract amount. Bidders are required to pay prevailing wage rates as specified in the Project Manual, and proof of payment will be required. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive irregularities, as deemed in its best interest. No interpretations of the meaning of the plans, specifications or other contract documents will be made to any bidder orally. All questions must be submitted in writing and received no later than 5:00 PM on the 7th calendar day prior to bid opening. Questions received after the deadline will not receive a response prior to the bid opening.
