Transportation Improvements: Replace sidewalk sections that are broken or do not meet ADA requirements. Retrofit pedestrian ramps that do not meet ADA requirements. Reduce width of Main Street in front of City Hall by adding on-street parking spots. Grind and inlay Scott Street and Main Street. Adding striping and signage along the corridor, including marked pedestrian crossing at all intersections of Main Street. Wastewater Improvements: Replace approximately 500 feet of old main line north of Scott Street. Stormwater Improvements: Replace existing storm water main lines under both sidewalks between Harrison and Jackson streets with a single pipe in the center of the travel lanes. Upgrade current catch basins with CG-2 catch basins. URA Improvements: Bring landscape areas up to city standards including tree wells and illumination. Add public benches, bike parking staples, and trash receptacles along the corridor. Water improvements will replace and upsize 8-inch main with 12-inch ductile iron pipes; consolidate pipe crossings at single points on Harrison Street; retrofit existing water fountain at the northwest corner of Monroe Street; replace three fire hydrants from 1990 or older; and decommission old mains from Scott Street to Washington Street. The project is included in the City's 2027-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
