Excavate and remove all grass, topsoil, organic material, and unsuitable soils within the pad areas. 2. Compact the subgrade to provide a stable foundation. 3. Install a minimum 4-inch compacted crushed stone/gravel base beneath each pad. 4. Form and pour concrete pads measuring 8 feet by 6 feet by 6 inches thick. 5. Concrete shall be 3,500 PSI minimum compressive strength and air-entrained where exposed to freeze-thaw conditions. 6. Reinforce each slab with #4 reinforcing bars at 18 inches on center each way or 6x6 W2.9/W2.9 welded wire mesh, supported to remain within the middle third of the slab. 7. Finish surface with a broom finish for slip resistance and tool all exposed edges. 8. Provide a slope of approximately 1/8 inch per foot to promote positive drainage. 9. Install expansion joint material where the new concrete abuts existing structures or concrete surfaces. 10.
