Construction of an electric substation and associated duct bank systems. The Work is to be ready for testing by others by 30 days after delivery of the 15 kV switchgear building which is expected to be delivered approximately June 1 , 2028. Subject to completion of testing by others, the Work is to be substantially complete and ready for energization by 45 days after delivery of the 115 kV breaker, and completed and ready for final payment 30 days later. General: Furnish material and construct 115-13.8-kV Substation and Duct Banks Principal Features: The East Shakopee Substation will include a 115 kV breaker with associated disconnect switches and switch support structures , 115 kV bus and bus support structures, a 47 MVA power transformer on a concrete pad with oil containment basin, a 15 kV switchgear building, a cable trench and conduits for power and control circuits from the switchgear building to the power transformer and 115 kV breaker, a 12.5 kV duct bank for circuits, and a stormwater detention pond with a discharge catch basin and associated piping. Interconnection Points. Xcel Energy will construct the 115-kV transmission lines and box structure as shown on the Contract Drawings. The 115-kV connection will be to the 115-kV breaker. The Owner will install medium voltage cables from the switchgear building to Vault 1 . DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK A. B. The Work covered by the Contract Documents shall include all elements necessary for the construction of a complete and functional 115-13.8-kV substation in accordance with the Contract Documents as generally described below, as more specifically described in the Specifications, and as shown on the Contract Drawings. Work Site location: Southwest Corner of the intersection of Hansen Avenue and Maras Street and along Hansen Avenue, Shakopee, MN C. Major Elements of Work by Contractor 1 . Construction Services, Material and Equipment a. Provide construction services, material, and equipment necessary for a complete and functional project as described in the Specifications and Contract Drawings b. Furnish, as a minimum, the following construction services. There will be energized high-voltage facilities at the north end of the Project Site and near the west end of the duct bank along Hansen Avenue. Notify all personnel of this issue. Establish Work procedures to protect personnel from injury and equipment from damage at all times. Maintain safe clearances from energized electric lines. Xcel Energy will construct facilities at the north end of the Project Site as shown on the Contract Drawings. Coordinate Work under this contract with work to be performed by Xcel. Provide all construction and associated material as shown on the Contract Drawings and in accordance with the Specifications. If there is a conflict between the Contract Drawings and the Specification, the Contract Drawings will rule unless described otherwise in writing by the Engineer. Bring all conflicts to the attention of the Engineer as soon as possible. Coordinate with Owner as to the items to be installed by Owner including: a. a padmount transformer in the southeast corner of the substation yard low voltage cable between the padmount transformer and the switchgear building in conduit to be installed by the Contractor medium voltage cable from the padmount transformer to the east property line in conduit to be installed by the Contractor medium voltage cable in the duct bank to be installed by Contractor between the switchgear building and Stagecoach Road. Establish benchmark and coordinate system for all Work. Survey reference points for base lines are shown on the Contract Drawings. See benchmark information in Note 3 on drawing 354621-601A.
