Brief Description: The University plans to build a new sports complex on the east side of University Circle, just south of Commonwealth Drive, next to the existing Power Plant. This 53,000-square-foot facility will feature a new hardwood multipurpose gymnasium with three NCAA regulation-size basketball courts. The center court will serve as the primary court for the basketball team, and retractable bleachers over the two adjacent courts will provide stadium seating that focuses on the center court when extended . The facility will also include a lobby, a dedicated training and weight room, an equipment room, a multipurpose meeting room for 35-45 people, locker rooms for both home and visiting teams, a ticket office, storage, a climbing wall, and a small concession stand. Additionally, there will be a loading dock for deliveries. The exterior design of the new facility will aim to complement the nearby Student Center, creating a new hub of student activity on campus.
