Manitoba Hydro intends to procure an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Solution, including the supply and delivery of electric smart meters, communications networks, and head-end systems (HES), with scalability for future integration of gas metering. The solution should support operational, reliability, customer service, and grid modernization objectives, including improved meter data availability and analytics, enhanced system visibility, outage and restoration management, load limiting and demand management, advanced rate programs, customer-facing capabilities, and multi-commodity expansion. A Meter Data Management System (MDMS) may be included as part of the AMI Solution or procured separately, with flexibility in procurement approach. Vendors are expected to demonstrate experience and capability in delivering AMI Solutions of similar scale and complexity, including the design, supply, and delivery of advanced metering systems and communications networks, integration with utility systems, execution of large-scale deployments, support for scalable and secure architectures, overall system accountability and coordination, experience in diverse service territories, and compliance with Canadian regulatory, metering, and certification requirements.
