Site work for a water / sewer project in Petersburg, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Sealed Bids for the construction of the Waterline Replacement at the Borough Office. The Project consists of the installation of approximately 1,000 linear feet of 6" diameter PVC waterline, including a horizontal boring and all required appurtenances. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certified or Bank Check; or Bid Bond naming as payee or obligee (as applicable), the Petersburg Borough Authority, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid as security for proper execution of the Agreement and submitting other documents as required by the Bidding Documents. No bids may be withdrawn, except when the Bidder(s) comply with the withdrawal requirements of Act No. 4 of the General Assembly of Pennsylvania, Senate Bill 793, Printers No. 1655, as amended. The Successful Bidder will be required to execute the Agreement and to furnish performance and payment bonds, each of said bonds to be in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price, all in the respective forms provided in the Bidding Documents. The Contractor also will be required to furnish evidence of insurance coverage as required by the Bidding Documents. All bonds shall be executed by sureties named in "Circular 570 - Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sureties in Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies" (current publication) by the Audit Staff, Bureau of Government Financial Operations, U.S. Treasury Department. Petersburg Borough Authority, and/or the Commonwealth reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof or items therein, to waive any defects or irregularities in the Bids, and to accept any Bid which, in its judgment, is for its best interest. Bids shall remain open for a period of sixty (60) days from the date of Bid opening unless award is delayed by a required approval from a governmental agency, the sale of bonds, or the award of a grant or grants, in which event the Bids shall remain open for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days from the date of Bid opening. Doc Notes: The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: Gwin, Dobson & Foreman, Inc., 3121 Fairway Drive, Altoona, PA 16602, (814) 943-5214. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Bidding Documents also may be examined at plan holding sites and websites indicated in the Instructions to Bidders; the office of the Petersburg Borough Authority, at 316 King Street, P.O. Box 257, Petersburg, PA, 16669 on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM; and the office of the Engineer, Gwin, Dobson & Foreman, Inc. at 3121 Fairway Drive, Altoona, PA 16602, on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to "Gwin, Dobson & Foreman, Inc." Upon request and receipt of the document deposit indicated above plus a non-refundable shipping charge, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents via delivery service. The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method selected by the prospective Bidder. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Bidding documents must be obtained directly from the Issuing Office by the Bidder for a bid to be considered.
