The City seeks to secure a qualified and experienced contractor with demonstrated expertise and appropriate equipment for agricultural subsoiling and rotovating operations to prepare two (2) units of the Poplar Tree Farm for future planting. The City seeks to secure a qualified and experienced contractor with demonstrated expertise and appropriate equipment for agricultural subsoiling and rotovating operations to prepare two (2) units of the Poplar Tree Farm for future planting. The work will focus on improving soil structure through subsoiling at a depth of 8-16 inches across approximately 40 acres, reducing compaction, and enhancing root penetration. Remaining stumps, roots, and debris will be removed to eliminate physical obstructions and ensure unobstructed planting operations. The site will be reconditioned by mulching and rotovating stump rows, applying soil tillage as needed, and restoring a uniformly smooth, unrutted surface to promote proper drainage and soil stability. Contractors shall possess the necessary equipment and a proven track record performing similar subsoiling and rotovating work to ensure the required depth and quality of soil preparation are achieved. Scope Of Work The scope of work will include, but not limited to, the following components: o Subsoiling/rotovating approximately 40 acres at a depth of 8"-16". o Mulching surface debris and rotovating stumps to a depth of 8"-16". o Restoring harvested areas to smooth, unrutted conditions. o Using appropriate equipment to maintain soil structure and achieve consistent results. o Following agricultural best practices and minimizing disturbance outside designated areas. o The work shall be completed between July 2026 and November 2026. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Chehalis. City of Chehalis reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waiver informalities in the bidding.
