Preparation of site and application of 3-inch asphalt paving in multiple designated areas, including repair of tire ruts in existing asphalt. Bonds: Performance Bond required (unspecified amount), Payment Bond required (unspecified amount). Question Deadline 07/17/2026 at 5:00 PM AKT Questions may be submitted through the online questions and answers section of this bid on BidExpress.com, faxed to (907) 714-2373 or emailed to purchasing@kpb.us. The subject line of the email should read, "Questions: ITB27-007 Kachemak Emergency Services Asphalt Paving." Contractor's cost to accomplish entire Scope of Services must be included in cost per square foot excluding Mobilization/Demobilization. Project Scope Includes but is not limited to the following: Site Preparation Marking the KPB identified perimeters of the paving site(s) with stakes, string, chalk or paint. o Ensure appropriate slope in grading for water conveyance away from all structures. Paving Ensuring marked paving site(s) are prepared to receive paving with a minimum 2-inch depth cap of D1 Crushed Aggregate with proper compaction. o Applying appropriate amount of asphalt to achieve a uniform compacted 3- inch depth throughout marked paving site(s). o Slope appropriately to prevent standing water. Hand work edges and transition areas as needed to ensure uniformity and integration with existing asphalt pad. Compacting & Curing Time Ensure uniform compaction throughout paving site(s) by using vibratory drum rollers, compaction plates and hand tampers as needed. o Rope off the paving site(s) to prevent vehicle traffic during curing time. Operational Continuity of Fire Station o Submit a schedule and work plan to KPB for review and approval which addresses the continuity of operations for the fire station . Identify staging areas for equipment and traffic plan to ensure KES Fire Station 1 caan respond to emergencies as needed.
