The elevator controls are in need of upgrading due to parts becoming obsolete. Elevators #1 & #2 were completed in 2024. We have a total of 8 elevators in the courthouse that will be needing upgrades. We plan to do an elevator each year until all are upgraded. We will use 2026 to complete the 2025 elevator upgrade. 2027 has a higher cost as we need to replace the original sidewalk elevator used to take the trash and recyclables to the dumpsters. OTIS Elevator red flagged it so no passengers are allowed on it any longer. This aligns with the Strategic Plan goal of Infrastructure & Environmental Sustainability because proper maintenance and repairs of the elevators will ensure government operations continue to function. This also enhances handicap accessibility The project is included in the city 2027 - 2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
