Renovation of a medical facility in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 5,780-square-foot medical facility.
The work consists of partial roof replacement at the NHSS facility located in Sallisaw, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, as further described in the Scoping Report dated 12 March 2026. The Scoping Report and all bidding documents will be made available to qualified bidders as described herein. The existing roof, which is an overbuild on top of the original, has been damaged during a storm and requires repair. The recommendations below, partially excerpted from the scoping report, will be used as the criteria for the roof replacement: Remove all temporary roofing in the location of the roof damage (see phase 1 in the diagram below). This is approximately 5,780 square feet of material. Replace the roof on Phase 1 only, as noted on the Building Diagram below. Remove necessary portions of the remaining overbuilt roof to assess means and methods for tying replacement roof into existing conditions sufficient for warranty of the partial replacement. A hazardous material investigation report has been obtained by the owner and has determined that no abatement is required. Phase the roof replacement to maintain operations of the facility. Original roof construction on phase 1 does not appear to have adequate slope. Subsequently, it is not known if the existing roof drains near the center of the south wing roof are functioning or properly tied into the storm sewer. It is recommended to replace the roof with one of the two options described below. a. Install a new roof over the existing deck with tapered insulation to slope the existing roof to the south parapet. Create a scupper and conductor head/downspout for the primary drains and a scupper for the secondary drains. Start and stop points of the roof slope will need to be considered to discharge all water to the perimeter of the roof and capture in conductor heads or gutters and downspouts. b. If the roof parapets do not have enough height for tapered insulation to drain to one side, an internal roof drain within the existing roof field may be necessary. The roof drainpipe should be routed to the exterior of the building to a downspout.
