The City of Arroyo Grande is requesting bids from licensed contractors for repair of undermined sidewalk on Rodeo Drive, Emerald Bay, Mercedes Lane and Old Ranch Road. The scope of work includes demolishing sidewalks, curb and gutter, confirming voids under sidewalks, laying down geotextile fabric, exporting, importing and compacting base to repair undermined sidewalk and prevent the erosions from recurring.which include import and export of backfill, installation of woven geotextile fabric, concrete repairs and bulb outs with curb and gutter replacement in Royal Oaks neighborhood. The Royal Oaks neighborhood includes Rodeo Drive, Emerald Bay, Mercedes Lane and Old Ranch Road. Contractor to find and confirm voids indicated on plans prior to removal of full sidewalk panels. Written questions due by July 27, 2026 at 2:00 pm Each bid must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or bidder's bond on the prescribed form and made payable to the City for an amount equal to at least 10 percent of the amount of the Bid, such guaranty to be forfeited should the apparent successful bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to furnish the required bonds and insurance certificates, and timely enter into the contract with the City. A Sample Construction Contract is attached in Exhibit "B". The security of unsuccessful bidders will be returned by the City no later than sixty (60) says following the date of the award of the contract for the work. Deposit of Securities in Lieu of Retainage. The Contractor may elect to receive 100 percent of payment due under the Contract Documents from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payment by the City, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the California Public Contract Code. Such securities, if deposited by the Contractor, shall be valued by the City, whose decision on valuation of the securities shall be final. Securities eligible for investment under this provision shall be limited to those listed in Section 16430 of the California Government Code or bank or savings and loan certificates of deposit. The City specifically reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all bids, to re-bid, or to waive inconsequential defects in bidding not involving time, price or quality of the work. City may waive any minor irregularities in the bids. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to bid opening but not afterward. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The estimated range is $80,000 - $90,000.
