Question Cut Off Date 7/29/2026 08:00:00 AM (CT) The City of Clinton is accepting bids for the Lubbers Fountain Bowl Lining Project. Lubbers Fountain is approximately 100 Years old. The work will consist of Preparation and repair of the existing concrete fountain bowl. The City of Clinton, Iowa invites qualified contractors to submit bids for the Lubbers Fountain Bowl Lining Project. Work generally consists of preparation and repair of the existing concrete fountain bowl ; installation of a fully adhered reinforced thermoplastic waterproof lining system; treatment of seams, penetrations, terminations and drains; testing; cleanup; and warranty. The approximate lining area is 3,100 square feet. Bidders shall field verify all dimensions, quantities, substrate conditions, access requirements, and details prior to bidding. o Mobilization, site protection , temporary barriers, safety controls, and protection of adjacent improvements. o Inspect and document existing concrete conditions before work. o Clean and mechanically prepare all surfaces receiving lining; remove contaminants and unsound material . Repair cracks, honeycombing , spalls, voids, sharp transitions, and localized deterioration as required for a continuous lining substrate. Prepare corners and changes in plane as required by the lining-system manufacturer. Furnish and install a reinforced thermoplastic PVC or equivalent high-performance waterproof membrane system specifically approved for the proposed fountain/water-containment application. Fully adhere membrane using compatible manufacturer-approved materials and methods. Heat-weld seams and detail corners, penetrations , drains, terminations, transitions, and irregular shapes to create a continuous watertight system. Protect existing piping , nozzles, drains, electrical components, architectural features, and items designated to remain. o Perform seam quality-control testing and final watertightness testing. Perform a 24- to 48-hour flood/water test after completion ; repair deficiencies and retest at no additional cost. Clean site, remove debris, and provide warranties and closeout documentation.
