Town of Shrewsbury invites sealed bids from qualified contractors for the demolition, disposal and replacement of five (5) wooden deck structures at Spring Street Elementary School, 123 Spring Street in Shrewsbury, MA 01545. The contractor shall supply all necessary labor, equipment, materials, vehicles, tools, insurance and incidentals to perform the complete demolition and disposal of five (5) existing wooden deck structures. The structures designated for removal include one ( 1) ramp and stair combination andfour (4) smaller decks with egress stairs. Prior to the submission of bids, the contractor must verify all dimensions on-site. Building plans and images are included herein for general dimensional reference. The finish materials shall deviate from the original wood construction. The floor decking shall be built using composite deck material , TimberTech or equal alternate, secured with appropriatecomposite screws. Cap rails and balusters shall be constructed of vinyl materials. Additionally, all lower hand/grab rails shall be entirely replaced with new, round metal railings. All new construction must conform to the 10 th edition of the MA state building code 780 and the ramp must conform to Massachusetts AAB regulations.
