Request for Quotes for Water Service Line Replacement and Valve Installation (inclusive of asphalt and concrete excavation) at Shrewsbury Fire Station Pursuant to MGL ch. 149, the Town of Shrewsbury is seeking written quotes from qualified contractors for the replacement of a water service line and valve installation (inclusive of asphalt and concrete excavation) at the Shrewsbury Fire Station located at 11 Church Road. Work to be performed under the awarded contract may begin as soon as a contract is fully executed and must be completed as soon as possible. The awarded contractor shall supply all labor, materials, equipment, vehicles, tools, insurance and incidentals to complete the herein required work. asphalt Excavation and Valve Installation: Sawcut the existing asphalt to dig a trench down to the 6" water line. Cut the line to install a new water gate valve and a valve box set to grade, followed by backfilling and repaving the excavated area once installation is complete. Mechanical Room and Water Line Replacement: Sawcut and excavate the concrete floor in the mechanical room to remove the existing 4" and 6" water lines. Excavate up to 30 linear feet of water line to replace the old galvanized piping with a new plastic water line that runs under the pathway, extends through the foundation, and stands 18" above grade inside the mechanical room. Backfill and re-pour the concrete floor after the water line is secured.
