Description: A proposed indoor athletic complex is being discussed for vacant city-owned parcels in West Valley City near the Jordan River, the Utah Cultural Celebration Center, and 3300 South. The concept calls for a 100,000- to 140,000-square-foot indoor sports facility capable of hosting basketball, volleyball, wrestling, practices, games, and regional tournaments. The project was presented to the West Valley City Council by Harold Moleni, with input from Clay Partain of Sports Salt Lake. The facility could potentially be developed and operated in partnership with a private company. Based on the proposed size and use, project value is estimated at $35,000,000.
