The Complexity Factor for this project is 0.035. The Consultant who is selected for this project and all Subconsultants the Prime Consultant will be using are scheduled to attend an initial meeting on October 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Region One/District One Office in Schaumburg. Phase I engineering services are required for all work associated with the preparation of preliminary engineering and environmental studies for the improvement of approximately one mile of US 6 from Central Avenue to IL 50 and one and a half miles of IL 50 from 151st Street to 163rd Street in Cook County. US 6 and IL 50 are both four lane divided roadways. The proposed improvement is anticipated to consist of intersection and roadway modifications to improve safety and operations. Anticipated needs include new left turn lanes, traffic signal modernization, and pedestrian and bicyclist accommodations. Anticipated scope in some sections will include a raised median and access restrictions.
