The Complexity Factor for this project is 0.07. The Consultant who is selected for this project and all Subconsultants the Prime Consultant will be using are scheduled to attend an initial meeting on October 27, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Bureau of Bridges & Structures Office in Springfield. Engineering services are required to provide Routine, Nonredundant Steel Tension Member, Underwater (non-diving), Element Level and Special Inspections of major bridges in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and IDOT Bridge Inspection Policy, field investigations and possible training. Limited projects will include Damage and Load Rating Inspections. The Consultant will be required to provide appropriate bridge inspection equipment to complete all inspections. The Consultant may also be required to provide the appropriate traffic control. Anticipated projects may also include plan preparation for the repair or rehabilitation of structures, load capacity rating of existing and/or new structures, drafting services and possible field investigations. The department will furnish the available documents and resources to the Consultant. Projects to be handled by the selected Consultant vary greatly in size and complexity as well as timing.
