The project generally consists of the construction of an Aeronautical Innovation Center, including but not limited to site preparation , utility installation, building construction, utility expansion, parking lot construction access improvements, and all related infrastructure and appurtenances necessary to complete the project. The Director will then forward both the question and the response to all prospective firms, who have made themselves known to the Director. The City Marion is seeking professional architectural , engineering, environmental, design, bidding, and construction inspection services for the proposed Aeronautical Innovation Center Project. Based on the preliminary drawings included in this RFP packet, the project includes the development of a new aviation education and workforce training facility at the Marion Municipal Airport. The proposed facility is anticipated to include classroom space, simulator lab space, drone lab space, briefing rooms, a testing center, study areas, restroom facilities, mechanical/electrical space, storage, lobby/vestibule areas, and related support spaces. Final building dimensions, room layouts, square footages, materials, systems, and code requirements shall be verified and refined during the design phase. The project also includes all related site and infrastructure improvements necessary to support the proposed facility. Preliminary drawings identify associated parking improvements, including approximately 48 total parking stalls with 4 ADA-accessible stalls, as well as utility improvements including water main, sanitary sewer, force main, lift station, service laterals, hydrants, valves, manholes, and related appurtenances. The selected firm shall verify existing site and utility conditions, confirm final service requirements, coordinate with applicable utility providers and regulatory agencies, and prepare all required reports , plans, specifications, permits, bidding documents, construction administration, inspection, and closeout documentation necessary to complete the project in accordance with applicable federal , state, local, EDA, FAA, building code, accessibility, and public works requirements. Responses must be submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked: Construction of an Aeronautical Innovation Center, including site preparation, utility installation, building construction, utility expansion, and parking lot construction.
