Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Meriden, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; playground / park / athletic field; and sidewalk / parking lot.

Form work to be installed around the entire perimeter of the court. New net post sleeves to set in their own concrete footings. Two layers of 6 mil poly will be laced over the entire court areas. A 5 thick, 3,000 psi concrete slab to be poured monolithically inside forms. Post-tensioning cables to be stressed according to PTI specifications and procedures. Concrete surface to be examined for flatness, according to the ASBA guidelines. Any deviation to be brought to proper tolerances with 5,000 psi epoxy concrete. After final cable stress, cable ends will be cut off inside the cone holes, and the holes to be filled with no-shrink grout. Sand entire Court surface. Acid etch and pressure wash court. Apply Ti-Coat epoxy and first coat of acrylic re-surface to entire courts. Furnish and install the 3 coat acrylic color coating surface system to entire area . 1 Re surface coat and 2 coats of color. Layout and stripe. Apply one coat of acrylic line primer. Once primer has cured, apply I coat of textured white line paint. Contractor to guarantee the post-tensioned slab against structural cracking for a period of ten (10) years from date of completion. Contractor will repair structural cracks to the City of Meriden's satisfaction to make the surface playable again. The final elevations are to remain the same. The existing surface is to be removed and posttension concrete installed. The City will not accept installation over existing material. This project at Meriden's North End Field (and 31-44 Locust Street Meriden, CT) includes but is not limited to earthwork and storm drainage associated with the construction of a new full-size, Post Tension Basketball court at the Park. Additional work will include the installation of a bike path, concrete sidewalk, playscape with chain link fence enclosure, parking lot and landscaping. The contractor must have at least five (5) years of successful experience in the required type of application. This bid/contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including setaside (25% SBE and 6.25% M/W/DisBE) and non-discrimination requirements enforced by the CHRO.
