Demolition and site work for a mixed-use development in Tacoma, Washington. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; and water / sewer project.
Scope of Work: The Work required for this Project includes: Containment Wall: the work consists of constructing a contin-uous wall with a self-hardening slurry that consists of a mixture of ground granulated blast fur-nace slag, select clay and water to form a low permeability barrier to contain groundwater. The wall shall be keyed into the second site aqurtard by vibrating beam meth ods. Site Preparation and Wall Area Capping: the existing site will require preparation, excava tion, fill, grading, demolition, star charge, and temporary work prior to containment wall installation. An impervious cap consisting of imported soil, geotextile and a PVC liner will be placed over the wall area following wall installa-tion to reduce stormwater infil tration within the containment wall. Storm water Conveyance Improvements one new 30-inch outfall and one existing 36-inch outfall will be modified as part of the Work Outfall construction and modification include piping. vaults, headwalls steel piling installation, check valves and cof ferdams. A collection and convey ance system will be installed to connect the wall cap area to new and existing outfalls.
