The project includes the furnishing of all labor, equipment and materials required to complete upgrades to the building envelope including windows, doors, siding and related carpentry. The project is located at 27 Wing Hill Road, Goshen, Massachusetts. Contractor Qualification Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Interested parties are encouraged to visit the location and view the building prior to submitting a quote for the worK Summary of Work The work includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Visit the site and become familiar with the site. 2. Removal and legal disposal of weeds, shrubs, and other vegetation obstructing the work area . 3. Have all underground utilities and above-ground utilities marked by a professional marking service and make safe for all workers on site. 4. Removal and legal disposal of existing exterior sheathing system, attachments, and all obstructions to the work down to the original barn siding. The work includes but is not limited to existing trim, windows, frames, surrounds, screws, staples, attachments, light fixtures, power line brackets, soffits, fascia and all other obstructions to the work. 5. Verify locations of and straightness of existing wood siding to remain. 6. Secure and fasten existing bard siding back to original barn framing with screws to flatten surfaces for the application of new siding. 7. Existing wood sheathing re-attach each plank back to the structure at each structural element with screws, as said sheathing shall serve as part of the attachment system for the finish siding and barrier system. 8. Rotten or missing material shall be additional work. 9. Infill all openings to be abandoned and infill openings at existing windows and doors where needed to meet new door and window opening sizes, as required to fit new windows and doors. a. Infill shall be framed from wood wall structural members above to wood structural members below with minimum 2" x 6" wood members, securely attached to the structural frame and wood exterior siding. b. Sheathing shall be CDX plywood, thickness to match exterior framing, to make exterior flush with existing wood siding. c. Infill each window opening to receive a new window with minimum 2" x 6" wood framing, braced from structural member below to structural member above, and attached to siding, with full header and full sill below opening.d. Furnish & install sloped wood sill atop framed sill , sloped to exterior, as per Plan details and this specification set. e. Furnish & install all framing around openings, typ. f. Frame in window openings door openings and all other penetrations with minimum 2" x 6" members and CDX sheathing to match original barn siding.
