Renovation of a military facility in Norfolk, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, transportation, and non-personal services necessary to perform ceiling grid repair, alignment, and acoustic ceiling tile replacement. Work includes conducting pre-work inspections; identifying and repairing damaged, bent, rusted, discolored, missing, or misaligned ceiling grid components; securing and leveling the suspension system; and replacing or adding hanger wires as required. Ceiling grid replacement shall be performed in the 1st, 3rd, and 6th floor hallways where existing components are damaged or deteriorated. The contractor shall replace all hallway ceiling tiles on the 1st and 6th floors with Armstrong School Zone Fine Fissured 24" x 48" x 3/4" ceiling tiles (Model 1714). On the 3rd floor, all damaged ceiling tiles shall be replaced with matching tiles identical in brand, style, and color to the existing installed product. The contractor is responsible for identifying and sourcing the appropriate matching ceiling tiles for the 3rd floor. Work shall be coordinated around existing HVAC diffusers, lighting fixtures, fire sprinkler systems, and life-safety devices to ensure uninterrupted operation and proper installation. All removed ceiling tiles, grid materials, and construction waste shall be disposed of legally offsite, with daily removal of debris from the work area. New ceiling tiles and grid materials shall be stored offsite and delivered only on the day of installation. The contractor shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA requirements and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual (EM 385-1-1). The period of performance is from 26 October 2026 through 31 January 2027. All work shall be performed between 0700 and 1600, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays, unless otherwise approved by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
