The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is requesting bids from qualified contractors to perform various site improvement scopes on 1- Maud Road SE corner lot and 2- S. Ingolf Ave Borough property 1,000 feet south of the intersection in Butte, Alaska. The S. Ingolf Avenue site (1,000 feet down from the intersection of Maud Road) is planned for a future Warm Storage Fire Station and truck fill location. These improvements will be performed in Phases with the site clearing and grubbing as described in the scope. A reference drawing of the work is attached. PROJECT SCOPE This bid includes clearing and grubbing for a new building site on S. Ingolf Avenue, a site concept plan is provided. At the Maud Road location on the southeast corner of Maud Road and S. Ingolf, the Contractor shall smooth out the current grade using existing on -site material and over excavation from the new South Ingolf site to the old Maud Road site to reduce hauling cost for the over excavated material . The corner Maud Road site is being abandoned because previous attempts to develop a water well were unsuccessful . The Ingolf site clearing and grubbing area is approximately 300 LF (East) by 440 LF (N-S) the Ingolf Road lot will be over excavated to remove organic materials up to 2-feet for the area that is 260 LF by 360 LF. On the west side of S. Ingolf Avenue is a private grass airstrip. No traffic is permitted on this grass area, and any damage must be repaired or replaced. The Contractor shall understand that this work includes but is not limited to the following: On the Maud Road corner lot, this property is to be graded smoothly to cover earlier work that is being abandoned due to two dry wells last year. Grade the site as smoothly as possible with the existing material and hauled in over excavation. The plastic standpipes are to be cut off and covered over. Over excavation free from stumps and debris from the S. Ingolf site can be trucked there prior to grading if desired. On the S. Ingolf Ave site- Tree removal and grubbing area 300 LF x 440 LF tree clearing. The construction site area will be over excavated to remove organics to a depth of 2 feet in the 260 LF x 360 LF area and this material can be deposited on the corner. See reference site drawing for what is expected for a finished product and areal photos of existing conditions. Cut down and remove all trees and haul off the stumps and organic debris within the construction site area to a depth of 2 feet. Outside of the construction site mulch branches and stump 6- inch below exiting grade. The contractor may haul the over excavation to the corner of Maud Rd and Ingolf Rd and place the material, free of stumps/trees and spreading it out.
