Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Ottawa, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a development; and playground / park / athletic field.
GAC is requesting the implementation of a landscape pilot in fiscal 2026/27 at 111 Sussex Dr. The goal of the project is to test nature-based solutions for climate change infrastructure resilience and maintenance cost reduction. We are looking for a low maintenance native species landscape that provides year-round habitat and sustenance for wildlife and supports the biodiversity of the area. GAC has a preference for Indigenous procurement and plant selection. The garden should contain flowers that bloom throughout the gardening season. GAC is looking for an ecosystem design that could include a rain garden that manages rain water and is easy to maintain. As part of the landscape pilot project, GAC would like to have a maintenance plan that includes removal of invasive species, protects habitats for pollinators, ensures soil health, includes an Integrated Pest Management plan, and preserves the safety and aesthetic condition of the landscape. A separate document with additional requirements that is more readable than this format will be provided and a map of the suggested area.
