The City of Lethbridge (the "City") has experienced two failures on the Sherring Lift Station forcemain over the past few years, prompting both internal review and third-party assessment of the affected infrastructure. The definitive root cause of the failures remains unknown, however, the assessment identified potential contributing factors including the presence of air pockets. Trapped air within the forcemain can negatively affect system hydraulics and operational efficiency. The project includes supply and installation of combination air release/vacuum valves on the forcemain and a bypass structure. The installation of combination air release/vacuum valves is intended to improve the hydraulic performance and reliability of the forcemain by allowing accumulated air to be released and by helping manage vacuum conditions during draining or transient operating events. Reducing trapped air in the system supports more efficient pumping, improves flow conveyance, and helps mitigate operating conditions that may contribute to increased stress on the forcemain. The installation of the bypass structure including hose material c/w on site storage are being completed alongside the ARV work to improve the City's ability to operate, maintain, and respond to issues on the forcemain if they occur following ARV installation. A dedicated bypass structure provides a controlled connection point for flow diversion, reducing the need for emergency field modifications during future forcemain repairs, inspections, or planned maintenance. Together, these improvements support the City's objective of reducing risk, improving system reliability, and minimizing service disruption during both planned and unplanned forcemain events. The work consists of the general construction of the Sherring Industrial Park Forcemain Bypass project located in northeast Lethbridge. It includes the supply of all labour, materials, equipment, transportation, coordination, testing, and incidentals required to install and successfully commission the bypass diversion structure and valves located near the lift station itself and to install and successfully commission the air release valve assemblies along the Sherring Forcemain. The work also includes hydrostatic and leakage testing of an existing forcemain segment that feeds into the bypass diversion structure, cutting and capping of the existing sanitary forcemain, excavation, backfill, dewatering, utility coordination, environmental controls, surface and landscape restoration, and procurement and delivery of emergency bypass piping material complete with the on-site storage seacan The project includes: 1.
