Demolition, site work, paving, new construction and renovation of a bridge / tunnel in North Bend, Oregon. Completed plans call for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel; for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Construction of steel sheet pile backwalls and wingwalls, structural excavation, removal of an existing tide gate structure, paving, guardrail installation, and shoulder paving. The Haynes Slough Bridge at N. Bay Road MP 2.75 is a critical transportation link for residents, aquaculture operations, emergency services, and utility providers along the Coos Bay shoreline. The existing backwalls, wingwalls, and approach elements have reached the end of their service life, exhibiting deterioration, settlement, and subsurface obstructions typical of older coastal structures. The project replaces these components with new steel sheet pile backwalls and wingwalls, removes the obsolete concrete tide gate structure, and reconstructs the approach pavement and deck surface.
