Renovation of a mixed-use development in Northampton, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The City of Northampton invites sealed bids to remove two failed/leaking boilers at Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School, and furnish and install two replacement sectional boilers, including reuse/reconnection of existing burners and associated work for a complete, operable heating system. Scope of Work: Disconnect, remove, and lawfully dispose of the two existing failed/leaking boilers. 2. Furnish and install two new commercial sectional boilers suitable for the existing Building D heating system and equivalent in capacity and configuration to the units being replaced. 3. Reuse and reconnect the existing Power Flame burners. Replacement boilers must be compatible with the existing burners and associated fuel, electrical, control, piping, venting, and safety systems. 4. Provide all piping, fittings, valves , gaskets, supports, wiring, controls work, insulation repair, and other connections or modifications reasonably required to complete the boiler replacement work. 5. Complete all required permits, inspections, manufacturer startup procedures, testing, adjustment, and commissioning. Both boilers must be fully operational and accepted by the City before substantial completion. 6. Protect adjacent building systems and occupied areas, coordinate shutdowns and access with SVAHS, maintain a safe and orderly worksite, and remove all project debris . 7. Promptly notify the City of concealed conditions or suspected hazardous materials. Hazardousmaterial identification or abatement is not included unless authorized by the City through a written change order. 8. Provide the manufacturer's standard equipment warranties and a minimum one-year warranty on Contractor workmanship from final acceptance. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids if in its best interest. 5% bid deposit required. Successful bidder must furnish a 50% payment bond. Prevailing wage rates apply.
