The work to be performed under this contract includes the following: The Project consists of the demolition of a 1-story and 2-story building located at 4100 Palisade Avenue. All structures, driveways, walkways, walls and fences will be removed, the basements backfilled to grade and the area will be stabilized. Principal items of work in the project include: Structure Demolitions 3/4 Ince Clean Crushed Stone Temporary Construction Fence, 6' Asbestos Abatement Disposal of Non-regulated Debris Asphalt Driveway Disposal Site Grading Bonds: 10% Bid Bond, Certified Check required, 100% Performance Bond, 100% Payment Bond. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. The work contemplated under this Contract shall be completed within 120 calendar days of notice to proceed. General: General: Under this Contract, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, superintendence, materials, tools, devices, apparatus, and all general construction work items required to complete the design and intent of the Contract Drawings and Specifications for the unit prices and lump sum bid for this contract. The General and Supplementary Conditions apply to all work included under the Contract indicated on the Drawings and accompanying notes and described in the Specifications. The Contractor shall obtain and pay the cost of permits, inspections, tests, and certificates not specifically excluded. Contractor will obtain and pay for all permits and fees including Building Permits. Item 1 - Mobilization/Demobilization Provide all labor, materials, equipment, and all other incidentals necessary to mobilize to, and demobilize from, the Site. Furnish Payment and Performance Bonds for the specified amount, which shall be based on the contract price as awarded. This also includes all work required, but not included, in any other individual bid item. Item 2 - Soil Erosion & Sediment Control Provide all labor, material , equipment, and all other incidentals necessary to install, maintain, repair, replace and/or remove soil erosion and sediment control devices at the Site. Item 3 - Asbestos Abatement The principal items of work under this task include the abatement and proper disposal of all asbestos-containing materials (ACM ) identified in the existing building in accordance with the Contract Documents and applicable Federal , State, and local regulations. Work hall include third-party Asbestos Safety Control Monitor (ASCM) clearance sampling following abatement. Item 4 - Structure Demolition The principal items of demolition work under this contract include, but are not limited to the following: Remove and properly dispose smaller vegetation surrounding the residences including shrubbery, and landscaping. Remove & properly dispose all remaining building contents and debris. Work under this item shall include the removal and proper disposal of items that may be considered universal waste prior to any building's demolition. Universal waste includes items such as fluorescent lights and ballasts, mercury containing thermostats, smoke alarms, and refrigeration/air conditioning units. Demolish the existing building in its entirety, including all one-story and two-story sections. Demolition shall include removal and proper disposal of all basement walls, foundations, floor slabs, and footings. Backfill all basement excavations with approved clean fill and compact in accordance with the project specifications. Place and compact 3/4 -inch clean crushed stone over the backfilled basement area as shown on the Plans or as directed by the Engineer. Regrade surface to match existing topography. Cut/cap all utilities within the property line. Cap/plug sewer and water services, mark locations with a timber post to grade except as noted on the demolition plan. Except where indicated otherwise on the project plans, adjacent structures, roadways, sidewalks, fences, and utilities to be protected. Q/A:- No interpretations of the meaning of the Contract Documents will be made orally by the Engineer to any prospective bidder. Notice of revisions or addenda to the Contract Documents shall be no later than seven (7) days, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays excepted, prior to the date for acceptance of bids be published in a legal newspaper and be made available by notification in writing by certified mail to any person who has submitted a bid or who received a bid package.
