Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in West Chicago, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a municipal facility; and for paving for a municipal facility.

Rehabilitation of two parking lots to include HMA surface removal , preparation of existing aggregate base, aggregate base repair (as needed), prime coat, and 2-in HMA surface course paving. Alternative bids will also be accepted to include 1 ) additional subgrade improvements via geogrid application and/or 2) rehabilitation of an adjacent HMA pedestrian path This parking lot rehabilitation project is located at two separate locations within the Township of Big Rock. Location 1 is at the Community Park parking lot near the intersection of 6th Street and Madison Avenue. Location 2 is the Big Rock Township Hall parking lot at the northeast corner of the Rhodes Avenue and 5th Street intersection. Improvements at both Locations will include asphalt surface removal , spot aggregate base repairs as needed, repaving with 2-in asphalt surface removal , re-striping, and restoration . The work will also include restoration and landscaping of all disturbed areas, traffic control and protection, as well as all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the improvements described herein. BID ALTERNATIVES: The project consists of improvements at two separate locations identified as Location 1 and Location 2. A Base Bid and Bid Alternatives are provided as indicated in the Proposal . The Total Base Bid shall consist of the sum of Base 1 and Base 2. Bidder selection and determination of the lowest responsible bidder shall be based solely upon the Total Base Bid. Bid Alternatives will not be considered in determining the lowest responsible bidder. For Location 1 , the Township may elect to award either Base 1 or Alternative 1A. Alternative 1A shall be considered in lieu of Base 1 and generally includes additional preparation of the existing aggregate base and installation of geogrid prior to HMA resurfacing. Alternative 1B consists of resurfacing the pedestrian path and may be awarded in addition to the selected Location 1 parking lot improvements. For Location 2, the Township may elect to award either Base 2 or Alternative 2A. Alternative 2A shall be considered in lieu of Base 2 and generally includes additional preparation of the existing aggregate base and installation of geogrid prior to HMA resurfacing. Following determination of the lowest responsible bidder based on the Total Base Bid, the Township reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bid Alternatives in accordance with the Contract Documents, based upon available funding and the best interests of the Township.
