The City is requesting cost proposals from qualified contractors for the replacement of the rooftop unit at the City of West Chicago City Hall located at 475 Main Street, West Chicago, Illinois 60185. The scope of the rooftop unit (RTU) replacement shall generally include the removal of the existing RTU, installation of a Luxaire 40-ton split system unit, replacement of the coil and refrigerant, and the necessary connections and adjustments to ensure proper operation. Furthermore, the work may involve electrical and mechanical components such as modifications or installation of the curb adapter, electrical connections, mechanical connections, gas piping, controls integration, minor ductwork, testing and commissioning of the proposed RTUs, and other miscellaneous items listed in the RFP to complete the project. The scope of the RTU replacement shall generally include the removal of the existing unit, installation of the proposed unit, replacement of the coil and refrigerant, and the making of necessary connections and adjustments to ensure proper operation. The City intends to replace the following existing 40-Ton York Outdoor Split Condensing Unit based on the life expectancy of the unit. The existing unit overviews are enclosed with the RFP Model Number - HB480C00A2AAA2 The existing RTUs shall be replaced with the following proposed 40-Ton Luxaire Outdoor SplitSystem Unit, or an approved equal . A response to all written questions received will be posted on the City's website under the Bid Postings section via an addendum, no later than 3:30 PM on September 17, 2026.
