The Project consists of a comprehensive renovation and addition to the existing two-story, approximately 15,215-square-foot public library facility. The Work includes construction of a new building addition incorporating an elevator to improve multi-story accessibility. The Project further includes complete upgrades to the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems serving the existing building and new addition. The Work also includes full replacement of the existing roof system, including temporary removal, protection, and reinstallation or replacement of existing solar photovoltaic panels. Site work includes provisions for a new emergency backup generator and associated infrastructure. The interior renovation includes complete modernization of existing library spaces, including new finishes, fixtures, casework, lighting, and equipment required to support updated library programming and community use. The project will be awarded under Multiple Prime Contracts as follows General Construction(including Site work), Mechanical Construction(including Sprinklers), Plumbing Construction, and Electrical Construction. The Bidder's attention is called to the fact that this project is governed by the Pennsylvania Township Code and that various State labor and administrative requirements apply, as noted in the Bid Documents, including the requirement that all wages paid are consistent with the Pennsylvania prevailing wage structure. Award of Contract will be to the lowest responsible bidder, but the Owner reserves the unqualified right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities.
