Renovation of the Engineers Field playing field. Obtain all necessary permitting (local permitting fees are waived for this project). 2. Set up and erect safety equipment as required by OSHA. 3. Provide adequate signage and project work perimeter protection (barrels, tape, cones, etc.) to keep the public out, avoid potential injury, and help ensure that completed work is guarded. 4. Demolish, remove, furnish, and install the following at Engineers Field (Baseball ) located at Johnston War Memorial Park (1583 Hartford Avenue): Surveying, Layout, and Site Preparation Survey and establish grades and elevations for the entire project area Reconfigure the baseball field to applicable high school regulation dimensions. Establish new locations and elevations for the pitcher's mound, home plate, bases, and base anchors. Remove existing grass, thatch, and unsuitable material from the designated infield, foul lines, and adjacent outfield perimeter. Haul and properly dispose of excavated organic material , debris, and other unsuitable materials. Infield Grading and Reconstruction Rough grade the infield and surrounding grass areas using laser or equivalent precision grading equipment. Till existing soils and incorporate approximately 1.5 inches of properly graded sand or approved equivalent material to improve drainage and establish proper field elevations. Laser grade the existing infield mix to establish proper slopes prior to placement of new infield material. Furnish and install new high -quality infield mix suitable for high school baseball applications. Furnish and install a compatible base or foundation material beneath the new infield mix to provide stability and drainage . Laser grade the completed infield to achieve final elevations, slopes, and drainage tolerances. Pitcher's Mound and Batter's Box Construct the pitcher's mound using approved professional-grade packing clay suitable for baseball field applications. Reconstruct the batter's boxes and catcher's box using approved professional-grade packing clay. Properly place, compact, shape, and finish all clay areas to provide durable and consistent playing surfaces. Furnish and install new home plate, bases, and base anchors at the required locations and elevations. Turf and Sod Installation Furnish and install Kentucky Bluegrass sod throughout the renovated infield, foul line areas, and adjacent outfield perimeter. Apply fertilizer and lime during sod installation as necessary to support turf establishment and healthy root development. Apply an approved soil conditioner or equivalent material to improve moisture management, soil structure, and playing surface performance. Properly install, roll , water, and establish all sod in accordance with accepted athletic field construction practices. Warning Track Renovation Remove weeds, vegetation, and unsuitable material from the existing warning track as necessary to prepare the area for renovation. Furnish and install new approved warning track surfacing material suitable for baseball field applications. Regrade, compact, and finish the warning track to establish proper drainage, uniform elevations, and a durable playing surface. Project Completion Remove all excess materials, debris, and waste from the site upon completion of the work. Restore areas disturbed by construction that are not otherwise included in the renovation scope. Provide all required testing, inspections, documentation, and project closeout materials associated with the completed baseball field renovation. 5. Perform all work according to State of Rhode Island Building Code and all relevant codes. 6. Proper state license and insurance is required. 7. All labor is prevailing wage, as per State and Federal Guidelines. 8. Leave premises clean and orderly. 9. One-year full warranty of materials and labor. Furnish and honor all manufacturers' warranties, as listed.
