Site work for a development in Black Hawk, Colorado. Completed plans call for site work for a conservation development.

Approximately 4,000 cubic yards of unclassified excavation with associated rock scaling. Location - 390 Gregory Street Black Hawk, CO 80422 1 General Conditions 2 Mobilization and Demobilization 3 Surveying 4 Traffic Control 5 Ground Clearing / Grubbing and Haul Away 6 Removal of Timber Crib Wall and Haul Away 7 Unclassified Excavation and Haul to Dump Site 8 Scaling 9 Overhead 10 Profit The Scope of Work to be provided by the Contractor shall include assistance to the City during the process of pre-construction and construction. Specific tasks to be performed by the Contractor include those generally performed by professionals in the excavation community. The Contractor shall construct the Bobtail Wall Excavation project, located along the south side of Gregory Street immediately east of the Bobtail Mine building located at 390 Gregory Street in Black Hawk, Colorado. Contractor shall excavate a portion of the hillside as described below for the purpose of expanding the useable space in this area and preparing the slope for a future retaining wall. Contractor shall remove trees and other vegetation within the proposed area of disturbance, as shown in the attached exhibits. Contractor shall haul trees and vegetation off-site, as the City will not accept this debris. Contractor shall remove existing timber crib walls within the proposed area of disturbance. Contractor shall haul crib wall material off-site and dispose of it properly. The City will not accept old crib wall material. Contractor shall excavate material as shown in the attached exhibits to expose competent bedrock. The anticipated slope of the resulting rock face is expected to be approximately 1 :3 horizontal to vertical, although that may change depending on where competent bedrock is found. Contractor shall use conventional excavation equipment and methods only. Rock excavation methods and equipment, including hydraulic hammers, specialized teeth, or explosives, shall not be used for this project. Contractor shall haul rock and dirt to a Cityowned repository, located along Highway 119 north of the fire station, less than one mile from the project site. After excavation, Contractor shall scale loose and weathered material from the rock face and from the 20' buffer area above the rock face. Scaled material shall be hauled to the City repository. Once the final toe of the slope is established, contractor shall excavate to a depth of 4' below grade and a width of 8 ' along the entire toe. Contractor shall use conventional excavation methods and equipment only. If competent bedrock is encountered prior to achieving the desired width and depth, contractor shall leave the bedrock in place and not proceed with any rock excavation methods. The purpose of this excavation is to prepare the surface for a future retaining wall footing. Due to constrained site access, dump trailers cannot safely access the site. Therefore, Contractor shall assume only tandem dump trucks will be used to haul material. The staging area is limited to the jobsite above the existing Gregory Street retaining wall and east of the Bobtail Mine building. Contractor shall provide at least one flagger to manage Gregory Street traffic when entering and exiting the jobsite with equipment. Question Deadline 09/28/2026 at 7:00 PM MT- Online portal. The project cost estimate is $250k.
