Replacement of two existing culverts. Culvert 1 will replace a stone culvert with a 6-foot wide x 5-foot deep box culvert lined with a 2-foot deep stone infill. Culvert 2 will replace a 24-inch corrugated metal pipe with a 3-foot wide x 2-foot deep box culvert lined with no stone infill. The envelopes containing the bids must be sealed, addressed to the attention of the Springfield Water and Sewer Commission, Attention: Chief Procurement Officer, 250 M Street Extension, Agawam, MA 01101 and designated as "SWSC Bid No. 27-13 Springfield Reservoir Culvert Replacement". Any hand delivered Bid received after the deadline will not be accepted. Any other Bid received after the deadline will be returned to the addressee. The Work includes the following major items: Furnishing and installation of approximately 26 linear feet of 72" x 60" precast concrete box culvert with 2-foot deep stone infill and new headwalls to replace an existing stone culvert at the same location. Furnishing and installation of approximately 26 linear feet of 36" x 24" precast concrete box culvert with no stone infill and new headwalls to replace an existing 24" corrugated metal pipe culvert at the same location.
