The Town was awarded money from the federal Carbon Reduction Program (CRP) through the North Carolina Department of Transportation to install a roundabout at the intersection of Veazey Road, Central Avenue, and Westbrook Drive. Kittelson prepared engineering plans that were approved by NCDOT. The project may be out for bids in late 2026. The Town is seeking a general engineering consultant to assist the town with inspections and contract management. Additionally, the selected firm will handle utility coordination, relocation, and general oversight. If your firm has not renewed its application as required by your anniversary date or if your firm is not currently prequalified, please submit an application to the Department prior to submittal of your LOI.
