This position performs skilled highway, roadway, drainage, grounds, building, and facility maintenance while operating a variety of heavy highway equipment, also provide directions to a small maintenance crew and assist with coordinating equipment, materials, and work activities. Responsibilities Include: Operating motor graders, loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, snowplows, and other heavyequipment. Road grading, shoulder maintenance, pothole repair, patching, and drainage work. Snow and ice removal and emergency roadway response. Culvert, bridge, sign, barricade, and roadway maintenance, tree removal. Building, grounds, and facility maintenance. Equipment troubleshooting, servicing, repairs, and shop maintenance. Maintaining a safe, efficient, and professional work environment. Qualifications: mployment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug and alcohol screening. High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of four yearsexperience operating heavy equipment and performing road maintenance. Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement required. Ability to safely operate graders, loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, snowplows, and related equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude, practical problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently. Ability to direct a small crew as needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform strenuous outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Availability for extended hours, weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts during snow removal, severe weather, or roadway emergencies.
