The Chicopee Public Schools Maintenance Department is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the removal of the existing concrete loading dock slab and stairs at Chicopee High School (CHS) located at 820 Front St., Chicopee, MA 01020. The successful bidder shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the following: 1. Remove the existing and affected 22' x 17' concrete slab and stairs. 2. Carefully remove and salvage existing handrails for reinstallation. 3. Protect the existing building, walls, windows, doors, and surrounding areas during removal and installation. 4. Prepare the existing area as necessary for installation of the new slap and stairs. 5. Form the new concrete slab and stairs. 6. Furnish and install wire mesh reinforcement as required. 7. Furnish and place 3,000 PSI concrete for the new slab and stairs. 8. Finish and cure the new concrete in accordance with accepted construction practices. 9. Remove forms following adequate concrete curing. 10. Core or otherwise prepare the new concrete as necessary for reinstallation of the existing handrails. 11. Reinstall and securely anchor the existing handrails in their original locations. 12. Remove and properly dispose of all affected concrete, debris, packaging, and construction materials generated by the work. 13. Repair or correct any damage to school property caused by the contractor during the course of the work. 14. Leave all work areas clean, safe, and free of construction debris upon completion. 15. Obtain and pay for all permits, and approvals required to perform the work. 16. Coordinate all work and scheduling with the Chicopee Public Schools Maintenance Department
