Professional engineering services for the rehabilitation of sanitary sewer pump stations. General Background: The Township of Fairfield, is seeking qualified professional engineering firms to provide design, bidding, and construction administration/inspection services for the rehabilitation of the Township's sanitary sewer pump stations. Fairfield Township owns and operates five sanitary sewer pumping facilities serving the Township's sanitary sewer collection system: o Ray Place Pump Station o Big Piece Road Pump Station o o Madison Road Pump Station o River Edge Pump Station Horseneck Road Package Pump Station Wastewater collected by these facilities is conveyed through the Township's collection system to the Two Bridges Sewerage Authority (TBSA) regional interceptor system and ultimately to the TBSA Wastewater Treatment Facility located in Lincoln Park, New Jersey. Constructed primarily during the early 1970s, these pump stations have provided reliable service through routine maintenance and periodic repairs. Due to the age of the infrastructure, many mechanical, electrical, structural, and control system components have reached or are approaching the end of their useful service life. Scope of Services: The Township intends to implement a comprehensive rehabilitation program to improve reliability, operational efficiency, public safety, and long-term maintainability while reducing the potential for equipment failures and sanitary sewer overflows. The selected consultant shall assist the Township in accomplishing the following objectives: Evaluate the existing condition of each sanitary sewer pump station. Identify operational deficiencies and infrastructure requiring rehabilitation or replacement. Develop a prioritized rehabilitation program. Prepare complete construction plans, technical specifications, bid documents, and engineer's cost estimates. Assist the Township throughout the public bidding process. Provide construction administration and construction inspection services during implementation. Assist the Township through project closeout and final acceptance.
