Working plans call for the addition of a medical facility; for the demolition of a medical facility; for the construction of a medical facility; for the renovation of a medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility.

The work consists of a Design-Bid-Build minor construction project to implement Electronic Health Record Modernization infrastructure upgrades at the Togus VA Medical Center. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete infrastructure upgrades supporting the Cerner EHRM program and to address deficiencies in existing IT and communications environments. The scope includes electrical upgrades such as panel replacements and normal and emergency power, bonding, uninterruptible power supply systems, Building Management System interfaces, and assessment and upgrades to existing HVAC systems. Work also includes reconfiguration, expansion, and renovation of existing spaces; demolition, new construction, finishes, and cabling; construction of a new telecommunications room tower addition to accommodate approximately ten new telecommunications rooms; and construction of a new data center building addition of approximately 2,000 gross square feet with electrical distribution, cable management, cabinets, raised flooring, finishes, and HVAC. Additional requirements include communication infrastructure upgrades with new data outlets, patch panels, and Cat 6A cabling; physical security upgrades; assessment and upgrade of campus-wide fiber backbone infrastructure within and between buildings; and hazardous material abatement such as asbestos and lead. The contractor shall complete the full intent of Project 402-22-701 in strict accordance with the Statement of Work, drawings, and specifications, including all work necessary for a complete and operational system, whether or not specifically identified. Location: Togus VA Medical Center, 1 VA Center, Augusta, ME 04330-6795. Period of performance is approximately 730 calendar days from the issuance of the notice to proceed. The magnitude of construction is between $50,000,000 and $100,000,000.
