The City of Augusta will accept sealed bids for Snow and Ice Removal for Walks and Stairs in the Downtown Area in accordance with the enclosed specifications. Bidders will be required to complete the attached Bid Form. Bidders are required to state any exceptions to the items listed on the bid form. The City of Augusta Public Works is seeking bids to provide labor, equipment, de-icing materials, insurance and incidentals to provide for snow and/or ice removal services on City sidewalks, walks, and exterior stairways in the Augusta Downtown area for the 2025-26 and 2026-2027 winter seasons. Scope of Work: The downtown district supports many businesses and offices along with residential units, restaurants and eateries. City sidewalks, walks and exterior stairways (herein referred to as "Walks"), must be maintained in a manner that safely provides for pedestrians to travel through the downtown area. For the purposes of this contract, work for the successful bidder shall include maintaining all identified walks and stairs in a passable condition during a storm event by removing snow and/or ice and treating with de-icer. Snow and/or ice removal and treatment shall continue as needed throughout the storm with a final clean-up and treatment with de-icer being performed at the end of the event. The contract period shall be for the 2025-26 and 2026-2027 winter seasons, typically from October 31 through April 30 of each year, and the City of Augusta reserves the right to increase or decrease the scope of work at any time during the contract. The contract may be extended through April 30, 2028 upon mutual agreement of both parties. The City of Augusta reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, or portions thereof, and waive any technicalities or formalities should it be to the best interest of the City of Augusta. Prices shall be valid for 20 days following bid opening. The City encourages women and minority-owned businesses to submit bids.
