Scope of Work: The downtown district supports many businesses and offices along with residential units and restaurants/eateries. City downtown parking lots must be maintained in a manner that safely provides for pedestrians and vehicles to travel through them. For the purposes of this contract, work for the successful bidder shall include maintaining all identified travel lanes of these parking lots in a passable condition during a storm event by removing snow and/or ice and treating them with de-icer. Snow and/or ice removal and treatment shall continue as needed throughout the storm with a final clean-up being performed at the end of the event. The City of Augusta will accept sealed bids for Snow and Ice Removal for Various City Parking Lots in the Downtown Area in accordance with the enclosed specifications. Bidders will be required to complete the attached Bid Form. Bidders are required to state any exceptions to the items listed on the bid form. The City of Augusta Public Works is seeking bids to provide labor, equipment, de-icing materials, insurance and incidentals to provide for snow and/or ice removal services for cityowned parking lots in the Augusta Downtown area for two winters seasons, the winter of 2025- 2026 and the winter of 2026-2027. The City of Augusta is exempt from paying Federal Excise Taxes, as well as State of Maine Sale and Use Taxes. Please bid less these taxes. Upon application, exemption certificates will be furnished. The contract period shall be for the winter of 2025-2026 and the winter of 2026-2027,and the City of Augusta reserves the right to increase or decrease the scope of work at any time during the contract. Contract may be extended until April 30, 2028 upon mutual agreement of both parties. The City of Augusta reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, or portions thereof, and waive any technicalities or formalities should it be in the best interest of the City of Augusta.
